Jesus made a statement that seems to be hard for most people to understand.
John 10:10
The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I Am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
People, even ministers of the Gospel tend to blame God for the bad things that happen in life. Especially if they have suffered some devastating life event. They don’t understand how something bad could happen to them. So, they put the blame on God instead of understanding that there is sin in the earth that brings about bad things and that there is an enemy out there with one purpose, to steal, kill, and to destroy. And in most cases, they will even quit serving God because they blame Him. And if they do stay in ministry, they say things like God is testing you, and that God is allowing this in your life to make you a stronger Christian, or that God is humbling you so that one day you may be exalted.
Then there are those that say, well God is in all control and since He is in all control, then that would make Him responsible for everything that happens. Good or Bad…
Question:
What is heaven like? (just take a moment and consider your answer… what does the Bible say heaven is like?)
Do you know why heaven is like that? Because there, God is in control.
What is the earth like? (just take a moment and consider the world we live in)
Do you know why, because here, God is not in control. We are…this is one of the reasons why Jesus said in the Lords prayer that we should pray that Gods will be done in the earth even as it is in heaven.
If God was in control, why would we have to pray and ask for His will to be done in the earth? Wouldn’t He just do it?
It is clear in the Word that God gave authority over the earth to Adam and Eve, who handed it over to satan. But, Glory to God, Jesus took it back and gave it back to us.
I have a minister friend that once said the Lord had revealed to him, that the things in the earth have to go through the Church before happening. Well, if that is true, that would make us (the Church) responsible for the things in the earth and not God wouldn’t it?
Then, religion says, well, Gods ways are above our ways… (you need to read it in context with verses above and beneath). No. That is an excuse for not knowing Gods word well enough, and trying to justify why something bad could happen to you.
He gave us His word and even became a man (Jesus) to show us His ways, to reveal to us what God is truly like and teach us the truth. And even gave us His Holy Spirit with one mission…to lead and guide us into all Truth. To reveal Jesus to us, that is to reveal God to us…or you could say, to reveal Gods ways to us.
Jesus stated in John 10:10
The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I Am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. making a distinct separation of Himself from the things that steal, kill and destroy.
And when Jesus was accused of working with the enemy in Mark 3, He stated that a house divided against itself cannot stand (that satan can not operate being divided against himself – that same truth would apply to God. He would not stand being divided against Himself).
Also, to say, that the power of deliverance is evil is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. Meaning that you cannot think that God is going to bring your deliverance if you are accusing Him of the evil. That would be double-minded and James 1:7,8 clearly states that a double-minded man cannot receive anything from the Lord, that he is unstable in all his ways.
The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Cor. 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Would God blind the minds of those? No, this is clearly speaking of satan.
There is much to be said about how God has separated Himself from sin and darkness. He has no part in it whatsoever.
There has been a great division made between satan and God. God stated in Gen. 1:3, 4.
And God said, Let there be light (established truth) and there was light (established truth in the earth).
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. That is a complete separation. You cannot have light and darkness together. God has made a distinct division between Himself and the works of darkness. And no, this is not sunlight. The sun was not made until the 4th day.
1 John 1:5 states that God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all.
Darkness represents sin, same as light represents God (Truth).
Ya know, even before I excepted Jesus as Savior and was Born Again, I never accused God of being responsible for the bad things that happened in life, to me or otherwise.
It wasn’t until I began going to Church that I heard people accuse God of the works of the devil.
They say things like this is the burden that I was born to bear. Or that God places bad things on you, such as disease or poverty to keep you humble. Or, that God had me go through that so that I would understand what it was like to be there and help others. Nowhere in the Word does it ever say that your bad experiences in life will help anyone. No, it is the “Truth that sets one free”. And you can teach someone truth without ever going through whatever they are dealing with.
All of these do nothing more than falsely accuse God of doing the works of the devil and keep people bound in a religious lie that will keep them from receiving from God the things that they need, such as healing, finances or even freedom from depression. Because they cannot receive from God if they think He is the one responsible for the things they are going through.
And What about Job they say…Yea, let’s look at that.
Not once did Job ever falsely accuse God of the things he was going through. No, not once.
Even the verse that everyone uses to say that Job accuses God with is followed by a verse that states that he did not accuse God!
If you believe he did, then my advice would be for you to meditate on the Word and reference these verses to find the true meaning of what Job said. It’s not what you think.
Job 1: 22
In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Another translation reads; nor accused God of this scandalous thing. Yet another reads; nor did he falsely accuse God.
Even to the degree that when Jobs wife tried to get him to curse God and die, he strictly refused. Calling her a foolish woman for even suggesting such a thing.
Preachers pull verses out of context and make them say things they were never intended to say.
If you keep the first two chapters of Job in context, you will plainly see that is was not God that attacked Job or had anything to do with his loses. But it was a full-blown attack of the enemy, in an attempt to devourer Job.
God did nothing more than be the Just Judge that He is. And it will be the same in your case. If the enemy has legal right to attack you, God will not stop him, because He is just and true in His judgments. If there is sin, the enemy has legal right. If there is lack of knowledge of God’s Word on your part, the enemy has legal right. Hosea 4:6 says that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. This is why He gave us His Word. So that we could discover the Truth and be made free to overcome the destroyer.
Lack of knowledge of Jesus would have sent you to Hell and God would not have stopped it from happening, because He Judges justly that you had rejected the truth of His Son.
But, when you were bound by your sin and going to hell, if you discovered the Truth about Jesus, you can be made free from sin and death. Born again, delivered to a new life in Christ.
It is the same with all truths in the Word. Discover truth on Healing and you can believe on His word and be healed…etc…etc…but you cannot believe God will deliver you if you think He is somehow involved in the troubles you are going through.
Accusing God of the dark things that happen in life will keep you from receiving the goodness of God and give satan free reign into your life.
As long as satan has you believing that God is in any way responsible for bad things that happen, you will not stand in Faith against your true enemy.
The simple truth is:
Know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free. Gods desire is to give you life and life more abundantly. For all good things come from the Father above. He only has plans of good things for you, to give you an expected end.
